It was in the 80s. At the time, Frédéric François and his wife Monique Vercauteren had already formed a family since 1970, when a tragedy affected them. Pregnant with twins, her pregnancy had not come to term and Monique had suffered a miscarriage… This November 9, 2023, while he was received by Jordan de Luxe, on C8, the singer of “I love you the Italian way” agreed to come back to this terrible moment.
“We were delighted to have twins…”
With courage, the 73-year-old star said: “Yes, that’s life. We were delighted to have twins. We had three children, so that would have made 5 children anyway. And then, at the last minute, my wife lost the twins.”
And to add that to get over it, “it took time, a lot of time”. So much so that the husband “had to do things in life” so that his wife “don’t get depressed, so that this couple remains strong”. On the set of “Jordan’s”he revealed: “We opened a clothing store and I wanted her to be in contact with people, so that at home, she wouldn’t go around in circles and think about that all the time. I wanted to do something to really get her out of this depression.”
“There should have been two more children”
An ordeal that was “very hard” and which Frédéric François still thinks about, “on Sunday”, he said “when we are all at the table and I say to myself ‘normally there should have been two more children, with perhaps their partner'”. Philosophically, this bereaved dad also assures: “But there you go, there are still a lot of us, but that’s life, we can’t do anything, the past doesn’t exist, we have to think about the future, and ensure that the future is inscribed with a perfect way.”
