A legal reconstruction of the facts which led to the death of Argentine rugby player Federico Martín-Aramburu will be organized on Wednesday November 8 in Paris, France Bleu Pays Basque learned from the lawyer of one of the civil parties.
Loïk Le Priol, 28 years old, the main suspect, and Romain Bouvier, 32 years old, identified as the accomplice, will attend this reconstruction. These two figures of the ultra-right are in pre-trial detention after their indictment for “assassination”. Shaun Hegarty, friend of Federico Martín-Aramburu and survivor of the shooting on the night of March 18 to 19, 2022, will attend this reconstruction.
This reconstruction “will allow us to rule out, in the end, any theory other than that of intentional homicide committed with premeditation”, assures France Bleu Pays Basque, Me Christophe Cariou-Martin, Shaun Hegarty’s lawyer. It will allow “dismantle the incompatibilities between the statements of those indicted and the findings of scientific experts”, he continues. Loïk Le Priol denies any premeditation, i.e. the assassination, and believes that the video surveillance images corroborate his defense.
Four people indicted in the case
Saturday March 19, around 6:45 a.m., former Argentine rugby player Federico Martín-Aramburu, 42, was killed in front of his hotel, hit by five bullets, after an altercation at the Le Mabilllon bar in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in the 6th arrondissement in Paris.
In this case, a 24-year-old woman is also indicted for “complicity in assassination”. Lyson Rochemir, companion of Loïk Le Priol, is suspected of having been at the wheel of the vehicle in which the two main suspects fled. She was released in December 2022 and placed under judicial supervision after spending nine months in pre-trial detention.
A fourth person was indicted on April 22, 2022. This man is accused of having helped one of the suspects during his escape, of having “withdrawal of documents or objects to obstruct the manifestation of the truth, concealment of documents or objects obstructing the manifestation of the truth” and to have “provided means to shield a person from search or arrest”indicated the Paris prosecutor’s office.
