Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella reaffirmed that they would go to the march against anti-Semitism scheduled for Sunday, November 12, in Paris. This presence arouses controversy, even within the government. “In my opinion, the National Rally has no place in this demonstration. Now, it is a public demonstration, in which everyone is free, in conscience, to participate or not”says Olivier Véran, government spokesperson.
Some call for forming a “republican cordon”
For its part, La France insoumise will not participate in a march alongside the RN. Wednesday November 8, Emmanuel Macron denounced the attitude of the two parties. The National Rally defends itself against accusations of anti-Semitism. The socialist, ecological and communist parties are calling for people to go to the march by realizing “a republican cordon” to distinguish the National Rally and the far-right forces to which they do not recognize “no legitimacy to demonstrate”.
