(Cancún) Competing in the semi-final of the WTA Finals, Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealander Erin Routliffe lost 6-1, 6-7 (1) and 10-6 to American Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Australian Ellen Perez, Sunday.
Dabrowski, of Ottawa, and Routliffe were the seventh seeds, among eight duos.
The reigning U.S. Open champions were undefeated in the preliminary round.
Melichar-Martinez and Perez, eighth seeds, will face Russian Vera Zvonareva and German Laura Siegemund, sixth seeds, in the final.
Zvonareva and Siegemund won 3-6, 6-3 and 10-5 against Belgian Elise Mertens and Australian Storm Hunter, seeded number two.
