Since November 1 and until March 31, special equipment is mandatory for all vehicles circulating in certain municipalities in 34 mountain departments (Alps, Corsica, Massif Central, Jura Massif, Pyrenees, Vosges Massif). This winter obligation, which results from the Mountain II law, has been in force since 2021.
