While the winter break began on Wednesday November 1, the Minister Delegate for Housing is concerned about the number of evictions this year. “Evictions returned to pre-Covid levels in 2022, and there are fears that the 2023 figures will be a little more difficult with the increase in energy-related charges”fears Patrice Vergriete.

To avoid too many expulsions at the end of this truce on April 1, the government “has the intention, with the ‘Housing First’ plan, to strengthen the prevention of rental evictions, with more human and financial resources”assures the delegate minister.

For this, it is necessary in particular “accompany as soon as possible”tenants in difficulty, explains Patrice Vergriete, “before the situation becomes impossible”. He also explains that state services are responsible for to “try to find more suitable accommodation in terms of rent”.
