A man took refuge in a shop Monday, December 20, taking two people hostage. Armed with a knife, the 56-year-old man was threatening to the manager and her daughter. The neighborhood was cordoned off as a matter of urgency. After speaking with lawyer Sylvie Noachovitch, and long hours of negotiations with the police, the madman finally agreed to leave the store on Tuesday.
The first hostage was released on Monday around 10 p.m. and the second on Tuesday. They are both safe and sound. Regarding the profile of the individual arrested, it is described as “a little unbalanced” by a local shopkeeper and said to herself “victim of a medical error” during his interview with Master Sylvie Noachovitch, who remembers a long confused exchange. The man had threatened to kill the hostages if she didn’t help him. An investigation has been opened for kidnapping.
