In 2001, the international public met three young teenagers who quickly became true global stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint carried for ten years the eight opuses that make up the saga Harry Potter, adapted from the eponymous work by British novelist JK Rowling. This Tuesday, October 24, 2023, TF1 is rebroadcasting the first opus of the saga, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which was released in France on December 5, 2001! The opportunity to return to the rare disease that has been diagnosed to Daniel Radcliffe a few years ago, well after the hours of success he experienced on the sets of Harry Potter. Now aged 34, the British actor discovered a few years ago that he suffered from a chronic illness causing him severe migraines, called cluster headache. In an interview with the tabloid The Independent in July 2022, the thirty-year-old had made this very rare illness official, benign but extremely painful, and which had only just been diagnosed to him after long years of medical wandering in the face of migraines which were crippling him.

“At the time, I thought I was a wimp. I was taking 12 strong painkillers a day and wondering: Why do I still have a headache ?” explained the actor, who must now undergo shock treatment to counteract the occurrence of seizures. Daniel Radcliffe must take anti-hypertensive medication and undergo regular electrocardiograms. In some cases, triptans, which are very effective against migraines, and oxygen therapy, may be recommended.
