The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) announced Tuesday around 4:25 p.m. that metro service was temporarily interrupted on part of the orange line.
The interruption, caused by a power outage at Lionel-Groulx station, affects the orange line between Côte-Vertu and Berri-UQAM stations.
A train stopped at Vendôme station was notably evacuated shortly before 5 p.m., after the people taking their seats had waited more than thirty minutes.

The service was initially scheduled to resume around 4:55 p.m., but the STM has since announced that it would not resume before 6:30 p.m. In the meantime, the company invites public transport users to use the green line for travel within the downtown, between Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM stations.
“The Berri-Montmorency section of the orange line is working, but possibly slowly,” the STM said by email.
The company has set up a special bus service to shuttle between the Côte-Vertu and Lionel-Groulx stations. “The stop located very close to the stations is identifiable by the color of the line it serves,” the STM announced on the social network X. “Around fifteen buses” were deployed to provide this temporary service.
She also recommends that users prioritize their bus service and use their transportation planner by unchecking the “metro” option.
