The novel May our joy remain (Héliotrope), by Kevin Lambert, adds new recognition to his list, since the Montreal author received the Ringuet prize from the Académie des lettres du Québec last week.
Kevin Lambert, whose novel was part of the first selection for the prestigious Goncourt Prize, is also a finalist for the Médicis Prize and the Décembre Prize, in France, in addition to being among the jury selection for the Grand Prix du livre de Montréal.
The others nominated for the Ringuet prize, which highlights the high quality of a novel, a story or a collection of short stories, were The white shadows (Viola), by Dominique Fortier, and Sailors don’t know how to swim (La Peuplade), by Dominique Scali.
The Académie des lettres du Québec also awarded the Alain-Grandbois prize, which rewards a collection of poetry, to Black night (Éditions du Noroît), by Joël Pourbaix, who expands the border between scientific knowledge and poetic writing.
In theater, the jury of the Marcel-Dubé prize distinguished the play Rita in the desert (Leméac Éditeur), by Isabelle Leblanc, while, for the essays, Alban Berson received the Victor-Barbeau prize for Demon Island. And other cartographic mirages of North America, 1507-1647 (North).
