Saturday October 21 in Marseille, a white march took place to pay tribute to Soucayna, collateral victim of the war between drug traffickers.

It was a tragedy that affected an entire city. On September 10 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), in the city of Saint-Thys, young Soucayna, 24, was fatally shot in the head by a stray bullet. A Kalashnikov shot went through the wall of her bedroom on the third floor of the building where she lived with her mother and little sister. The young law student is a collateral victim in the war waged by drug traffickers in Marseille. Since the start of the year, more than forty people have been murdered in settlements linked to drug trafficking.

The investigation stalls

In the Saint-Thys city where the young woman lived, the daily life of the residents has continued to deteriorate since the installation of a deal point. However, members of the social center have launched numerous alerts to the public authorities: “We have noticed for a long time that the situation is deteriorating and that not much is being done. It requires resources and time if we do not want to see this type of drama happen again”. More than a month after the tragedy, the investigation is at a standstill. Saturday October 21, a white march was organized at 2 p.m. in Marseille in memory of the young woman.
