The Quai d’Orsay announced on Friday October 20 that around fifty French people had asked to leave the Gaza Strip, two weeks after the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7.

The Foreign Ministry says they are in contact with the French consulate in Jerusalem. France negotiates with Egypt in order to get them out of the warring territory. The vast majority of these French people are already in the south of the Gaza Strip.
