In the friendly meeting genre, it’s difficult to be more cordial than this France-Scotland, Tuesday October 17. Already qualified for Euro 2024 in Germany, the Blues welcome another nation which has booked its ticket for the competition next June: Scotland, at 9 p.m., at the Decathlon Arena in Villeneuve d’Ascq. Winners of the Netherlands on Friday in Amsterdam (2-1), the French achieved a flawless performance in the qualifiers for the Euro, with six victories in as many matches.

The Blues’ last friendly match, however, left a different taste, with a defeat against Germany in Dortmund (1-2) in September. When it comes time to challenge Scotland, the French team hopes to gain confidence, for the seventeenth confrontation between these two nations, the first since 2016. For this, Didier Deschamps should rotate to give their chances to usual replacements, who will therefore have points to gain.
