Tuesday, October 17, classes resumed at the Gambetta high school in Arras, where last Friday, Dominique Bernard was stabbed to death. In front of the establishment, the students are still in shock.

High school students from other schools came at dawn, Tuesday October 17, to pray in front of the Gambetta college-high school, in Arras (North). A tribute to the deceased professor, posted on social networks. “It really upset us, shocked us. So, we come to pay tribute to him because it’s sad”, indicates a young girl. Last Friday’s attack shook the entire city. A florist is always full. “The only gesture we can make is a little flower”assures a florist.

Worried students

Students came from Lille (North) and Paris to show their solidarity with the students of Arras. “It shows that we are united. That we are together”, admits a student. Returning to class is a necessity for these young people who until now felt invulnerable. “Fear is there all the time. I know we should get past it, but fear is there all the time”, recognizes a student. A legitimate fear upon learning that the terrorist has pledged allegiance to ISIS. His custody has just been lifted. He must be presented to an investigating judge for indictment.
