No truce in sight between Israel and the HamasMonday October 16. Israeli Prime Minister denies any ceasefire agreement. Israel continues to mass its troops around the Gaza Strip and still calls on the Palestinians to leave the north of the enclave, but Israeli strikes also affect the south of Gaza. Evacuations in northern Israel
More than a million people fled the northern Gaza Strip in panic to take refuge in the south. Families find refuge in a school managed by the United Nations. Despite fear and pain, a Gazan says she will not flee. “Even if we die of hunger, we will stay here”she assures. Humanitarian aid is pouring in from across the region, but it is not crossing the Egyptian border at the moment.
