The stage and concerts have become an economic accelerator for artists. Today’s global queen in this field, Taylor Swift, is freaking out the numbers. A recording of his tour is currently being shown in cinemas around the world.
After the big stadiums, Taylor Swift is coming to the big screen. Three hours of show in 8,500 cinemas in around a hundred countries. It is the film of the most profitable tour in the history of pop: already more than 1.5 billion in revenue, although it is not yet over.
For fans, it is often difficult to secure a concert ticket. “In Paris, we couldn’t get a place. This is the opportunity to see it, even if it’s not in reality”confides an admirer. THE The price is 20 euros for the session, ten times cheaper than certain concert tickets.
Artists appreciate the formula
Artists are increasingly fond of this formula. This is the case of the group Muse, the rapper Orelsan or even Indochine. Record sales are at half mast, so artists are making up for it through concerts and cinema screenings. “On Taylor Swift, we had over a million people in line trying to buy tickets. A lot of people are frustrated, they still want to have that experience, and their only way is is to find them at the cinema”explains Arnaud Meerseman, general manager of ARG-Presents France.
