159,000 euros for the Jalousie Tower and the Leyret water mill

The Heritage Foundation unveiled on Monday the 100 new monuments in danger selected for the Loto du patrimoine 2021. In the Loire and Haute-Loire, two monuments alone will receive 159,000 euros! In the Loire, the Tour de la Jalousie is allocated 57,000 euros and in Haute-Loire, the Leyret water mill will receive 102,000 euros. The Heritage Foundation will repay this aid to project leaders as the work progresses, upon presentation of invoices.

The Jalousie Tower dates from 1905 only, but it is already fragile! In a century, it has become one of the emblematic monuments of Saint-Martin-La-Plaine, in the Loire.

Leyret water mill, located in Roche-en-Régnier, in Haute-Loire, dates from 1860. It is one of the “the last of the Loire gorges to still have all of its original equipment” details the foundation of the heritage. He’s regouping “crusher, press for rapeseed oil, millstones and sieves for the flour, which set in motion with the force of the water” and has not been in office since 1971, when the last miller retired.

In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, twelve sites will benefit from these funds :

  • Château de Thol, in the Ain, in Neuville-sur-Ain: 300,000 euros
  • Protestant temple, in the Allier, in Vichy: 105,000 euros
  • Cévennes farmhouse fortified in lauze, in Ardèche, in Saint-Pierre-Saint-Jean: 185,000 euros
  • Buron de Margemont, in Cantal, in Molèdes: 145,000 euros
  • Château de Crépol, in the Drôme, in Crépol: 300,000 euros
  • Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, in Isère, in Châbons: 300,000 euros
  • La Tour de la Jalousie, in the Loire, in Saint-Martin-la-Plaine: 57,000 euros
  • The Leyret water mill, in Haute Loire, in Roche-en-Régnier: 102,000 euros
  • Seychalles bridge factory, in the Puy de Dôme, in Thiers: 85,000 euros
  • Tanneries Ronzon, in the Rhône, in Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise: 300,000 euros
  • Château de la Grande Forêt, in Savoy, in Saint-Jean-de-Chevelu: 300,000 euros
  • Château Saint-Michel d’Avully, in Haute-Savoie, in Brenthonne: 164,000 euros

In total, more than 18.7 million euros which will be mobilized for this 4th edition, a little more than last year.
