Hamas gunmen killed Adi Vital-Kaploun while storming Kibbutz Holit, not far from the border with the Gaza Strip.
“She was a beautiful person with a warm soul who showered her friends and family with love,” Ms.me Freedman.
Born in Israel, Adi Vital-Kaploun held Canadian citizenship, and her family had “deep ties” to the Ottawa community, she also said.
She is the third Canadian national to be assassinated during attacks perpetrated by Hamas in Israel.
Media reports initially reported that the woman was first taken hostage before being executed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, announced Wednesday morning that the death toll had increased, with three deaths, including one presumed.
She refused to confirm that the alleged victim was Adi Vital-Kaploun.
The other two victims are Alexandre Look, a 33-year-old Montrealer, and Ben Mizrachi, a 22-year-old man from British Columbia.
The two men were attending an outdoor concert in southern Israel when Hamas attacked.
