Several homes in Montreal have been without electricity since Wednesday morning in the Rosemont, Villeray and Plateau-Mont-Royal sectors.
“We are talking about two fairly large outages,” confirms Maxime Gagné, spokesperson for Hydro-Québec.
An equipment breakdown in two energy transmission stations is believed to be the cause of the interruptions. Power should be restored shortly, added the public relations specialist. Restoration is expected for noon, according to the Hydro-Québec website.
The outages began around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Currently, nearly 20,500 customers are affected.
