A man in his thirties currently involved in a violent conflict between street gangs died in Terrebonne on the night of Monday to Tuesday.
For the moment, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is speaking of a “suspicious death” and is not giving details on the circumstances of the death.
According to our information, the victim is Gordy Jean-Paul, alias Young Dev. He was the brother of Rodney Jean-Paul, killed in the early 2000s at the end of a violent conflict between two Laval street gangs which has continued since. Jean-Paul, 34, died on the spot on the evening of Monday to Tuesday. He was found inside his vehicle.
According to our information from criminal and police circles, “Young Dev” would have been active in drug trafficking, particularly in the Saint-Michel sector, in Montreal. The father of the family had been living in Terrebonne for several years.
The police considered Gordy Jean-Paul to be a member of a Laval street gang with blue allegiance. The authorities identify him as the instigator of a long-standing conflict with two street gangs of red allegiance: the Flamed Head Boys (Laval-des-Rapides) and the 24 (Saint-François).
The victim had several firearms records. He was also sentenced to six years in prison in connection with an attempted murder that occurred at Cabaret Doric in Longueuil in 2018.
