How can François Legault and his deputies imagine that they lost the election in Jean-Talon because the voters want a third link, when 63% of voters voted for parties opposed to the third link and in favor to the tram.
If these same voters had been in favor of the third link, they would have voted Conservative or CAQ!
Jean-Talon elected Pascal Paradis with 44% of the votes because he is a good candidate and Paul St-Pierre Plamondon arouses admiration, even from those who are not sovereignists.
Furthermore, how can François Legault claim that the citizens of Quebec “sent him a message”, when Jean-Talon only represents part of this city?
Here he is also doing his Pontius Pilate by affirming that the tramway project is a project of the City of Quebec. Did he say the same thing for REM? A structuring project in the capital of Quebec is not just a municipal project.
The CAQ is losing its control by trying to please everyone and ultimately risks displeasing everyone…
It is with political parties like civilizations: they always end up declining… and sometimes rebounding.
