Dear elected officials,
I contest the fact that you are unanimous in condemning, in the name of Canada, the Hamas attack against Israel, without restraint. I understand that it is wrong to use violence, but sometimes people no longer have a choice, and this is the case for Palestinians now. I authorize you, in my name, to denounce the excesses, but I would be grateful if you would point out that Israel has largely pursued its misfortune by continuing illegal settlements on the West Bank and suffocating the Gaza Strip. Israel is far from being free from blame; moreover, the forces present are far from being equivalent. How can we condemn Palestinians whose land was stolen to get rid of the Jewish problem after World War II? I would ask you to call Palestinians and Israelis to order, and invite nations to reflect on the deplorable situation in which the two warring parties find themselves due to heartbreaking political decisions.
