20 years of Scaro jewelry
Jeweler Caroline Arbour, creator of Scaro, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her brand in style. And launch the collection Alive with Ève Salvail as muse and a pop-up boutique, which will be held at Birks from October 10 to 14.
The collection Vivante de Scaro is the fruit of Caroline Arbor’s 20 years of passion for jewelry. “Twenty years of quest for happiness, balance and search for meaning that we give to our lives. This collection represents powerful emotions, whether sensitivity, gentleness, creativity, duality and fighting spirit,” explains the jeweler, a native of Gaspé who lives in Abitibi and whom we met during her passage to Montreal.
Model Ève Salvail is the face of this collection which includes beetle jewelry, the strong symbol of the brand, but also pendants in the shape of keys in sterling silver and gold, synonymous with freedom. The collection also includes water drop pendants, the source of life, and honey cells, symbols of purity and patience. “Ève Salvail is an inspiring and authentic woman,” explains Caroline Arbor. She is from Gaspé like me, I have always liked her a lot, so I am very proud that she is my muse for this collection. »

All Scaro jewelry is handmade. Some pieces are adorned with precious stones, like the earrings worn by Brigitte Macron, the first lady of France, last June.
The beetle is the designer’s lucky charm and her inspiration for 20 years. “It’s an insect that looks a lot like me,” she said. When I am in society, I protect myself and I put on a shell, whereas when I find myself in my workshop in Amos, I am as noisy as a beetle. I spread my wings, I feel free, fulfilled! »
The Scaro pop-up store is being held at Birks from October 10 to 14. There you will find the brand’s most striking collections as well as the new Vivante collection.

Julie Bélanger launches a jewelry collection
Host Julie Bélanger launches JULIE x DRAE Collection, which includes earrings, necklaces and rings in sterling silver or gold plated. “I’m really excited!” The collection resembles me and I was involved from A to Z in all the jewelry design. It’s really a beautiful creative project. With stylish jewelry that we can wear,” explains the host in a telephone interview. The collaboration with DRAE Collection happened in a very natural way. “I discovered this brand last year thanks to my stylist. I really like DRAE jewelry and when I met Aurélie Noël, the founder, it was a real crush. She is young and daring. I am even more flattered that she asked me, a woman of almost 50, to create this collection of jewelry and to show that women of my generation are beautiful, strong and that we have our place,” believes Julie Bélanger. The collection is named after her: JULIE, which means joy, unique, light, independent and radiant. For each piece of jewelry sold, $1 will go to the Tel-Aide Montréal organization. “I am a spokesperson for the organization and it is important for me to get involved and raise awareness about mental health,” concludes Julie Bélanger.
Tested: a divine balm
It’s already that time of year when we start to feel the cold and this 100% vegan lip balm from Summer Fridays is simply divine! It makes lips shine while hydrating them, as it is packed with shea butter and murumuru, an ultra-nourishing butter. It is applied at any time of the day or even before bed. It is very lightly scented with sweet mint, which is very pleasant. It’s simple, we adopted it!

Tested and approved: pimple hunting
If you have teenagers under your roof, like us, you must be on the lookout for new products for acne. At our house, we literally fought to test this new vegan solution from Caudalie, which promises to purify imperfections and minimize redness. Designed with natural ingredients (notably salicylic acid, with proven anti-acne properties), the solution did not disappoint. And God knows if expectations were high: no, it’s not a miracle product, but the cream does indeed work on small spots at night, just like during the day, camouflaging them as a bonus. Our sensitive skin didn’t have any nasty reactions. And we also like its tube, made entirely from recycled aluminum. Note that the range also includes a cleansing soap, a toner, a serum and a moisturizing fluid.
$32 for 15ml. Available online and at Sephora.
