After a long stretch of sunshine, rain will appear during the festivities of the Thanksgiving long weekend in several regions of Quebec between now and Sunday, while several sectors can expect precipitation that could reach 80 millimeters.
In a warning published Friday morning which affects Greater Montreal as well as several sectors of the Laurentians, Lanaudière and Mauricie, Environment Canada indicates that between 50 and 80 millimeters of rain are expected between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.
The federal agency also warns that quantities could be higher locally in certain places, which could cause flash floods and accumulation of water on the roads.
Flooding is also possible in places in the lowlands, adds Environment Canada.
Other regions, including Quebec, Charlevoix, Beauce, Saguenay and Estrie, are instead the subject of a special weather bulletin from Environment Canada, in which the agency says to expect quantities of rain ranging from 40 and 70 millimeters, always between Friday and Sunday depending on the sectors.
The rainy weather is expected to continue on Monday, Thanksgiving Day, and for a good part of next week across Quebec, based on Environment Canada forecasts available Friday morning.
