A firm response

The SOS homophobia association calls for severity. “What we are asking for are extremely firm sanctions (…) and an amplification of awareness among football clubs”says Joël Deumierthe co-president of the association. There LFP will also look into homophobic chants launched by Rennes supporters last weekend. The government wants the decisions to be radical in these cases. In 2019, several matches were stopped following homophobic chants. Since then, no sanctions have been taken.
