Will the Minister of the National Capital [Jonatan Julien] was aware of this turnaround? » he continued.
Québec solidaire (QS) also intends to table a motion in the National Assembly to recall that the Minister of Transport had abandoned the motorway component of the third link, affirming that it was a “pragmatic” decision and “ responsible “.
In the wake of his scathing defeat in Jean-Talon on Monday, Prime Minister François Legault wanted to revive hopes around the third link. He said he wanted to consult the population of Quebec on the subject. All options are on the table, which means that we could see the return of the highway component of the project.
Solidarity activist Vincent Marissal believes that this is a diversionary method on the part of the government.
“I think it’s expensive, 10 billion, for a diversion,” said PQ MP Pascal Bérubé.
According to him, the Prime Minister’s statements place the CAQ deputies from Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches in an “untenable situation.”
“We’re playing yo-yo with the others and I think it’s going to be complicated for the next few weeks,” he said.
The Liberals sharply criticized the Prime Minister and his desire to bring back his third link project.
Interim Liberal leader Marc Tanguay called the prime minister a “national weather vane.”
His colleague, MP André Albert Morin, said he was surprised by Mr. Legault’s statement, believing it was a bad joke. “But it looks like he was serious,” he blurted.
