Gentlemen bankers!
I am addressing you, MM. Trudeau and Legault. Do you read the same newspapers as me? Could it be that you are flying so high that you lose sight of us, the citizens?
It was when I read last Friday’s article concerning the billions granted to Northvolt for “its battery cell mega-factory” that I jumped out of my chair. By your decisions, I see once again that you do not live
definitely not in the same world as me…
How do you support the expansion of cars, even electric ones, when hospitals and schools are collapsing before your eyes, under your current responsibility? […] And I’m not even getting into your inertia in the face of environmental deterioration here.
It seems to me that your duty as “public authorities” is above all to provide for the essential goods of your constituents… Whether they are homeless, sick, unfortunate, old, young, you must ensure that they accomplish in an environment conducive to their intelligence, their health, their dignity.
I invite you to review your decisions. Why not reverse the current trend and promise Northvolt what you declared as money for schools, hospitals and social housing?
You’ll kill two birds with one stone. And even more! Like reducing environmental deterioration due to the construction of this mega-factory; reduce the vehicle fleet; encourage public transportation; restore our institutions (hospitals, schools) and social housing, without neglecting the electoral favor that would result.
Please, gentlemen, for the good of citizens, change your glasses, and act with your hand on your heart rather than in your pockets!
