Fragile people can be vaccinated against Covid-19 from Monday October 2. The vaccination campaign started two weeks in advance. Update with Damien Mascret, on the 20 Heures set.

The vaccination campaign against Covid-19 started on Monday October 2, two weeks before the scheduled date. The first reason is the epidemic resumption: “We went from 25 to 45 per 100,000 in less than a month”explains Damien Mascret, doctor and journalist on the set of 20 Heures, Monday October 2. “For the majority of French people, the last immune booster is starting to date back, often more than six months”he adds.

Vaccines adapted to new variants

The immune booster can be a vaccination or contamination. Vaccination is recommended for fragile and vulnerable people who are at risk of developing serious illnesses. This concerns people aged 65 and over, pregnant women, immunocompromised patients. Finally, caregivers and residents in nursing homes are also targeted by the campaign. “The new vaccines are particularly adapted to the new variants that are circulating”concludes Damien Mascret.
