Quebec City Film Festival: five notable red carpets since 2011

Before receiving the stars of Will, Friday evening, at the Théâtre Le Diamant, the Quebec City Film Festival has repeatedly rolled out its red carpet for the stars of Quebec films who have appeared in its programming over the years. Here are five red carpets that marked the FCVQ.

Café de Flore (2011)

It’s so funny to see the late Jean-Marc Vallée again. To launch with great fanfare this brand new festival dedicated to the seventh art, in 2011, the organizers of the FCVQ had the lucky hand of welcoming the team of Café de Flore on opening night. The filmmaker was notably surrounded by actors Hélène Florent, Rosalie Fortier, Evelyne Brochu and Kevin Parent.

Mommy (2014)

A few months after shaking up the Croisette at the Cannes Film Festival, Xavier Dolan took a detour to Quebec to present Mommy, still to this day the golden nugget of his brilliant discography. Suzanne Clément, Anne Dorval and Antoine Olivier Pilon were also there for this evening which had the crowds flocking.

Paul in Quebec (2015)

They were right to smile, the architects of the big screen adaptation of the graphic novel Paul in Quebec. The weather was nice and a gleaming vintage car awaited them at the foot of the Palais Montcalm, where films were shown at that time. We recognize the cartoonist Michel Rabagliati, the actors François Létourneau and Julie Le Breton, the director François Bouvier, the actresses Louise Portal and Karine Vanasse. At the front, the young Shanti Corbeil-Gauvreau.

Mongolian kings (2017)

Beautiful father-son evening for the duo Luc and Henri Picard, during the world premiere of the film Mongolian kingsin 2017. Young actors Milya Corbeil Gauvreau, Anthony Bouchard and Alexis Guay also shone under the camera flashes.

It was raining birds (2019)

We couldn’t have known it, but the FCVQ 2019 was going to be the last for a few years to roll out its red carpet in public due to the pandemic hanging over our noses. Cinema veterans like Gilbert Sicotte and Rémy Girard came to support director Louise Archambault during the presentation ofIt was raining birds.
