A 25-year-old man was sentenced this Wednesday evening to 28 years of criminal imprisonment by the Dordogne Assize Court for the rape of an 88-year-old woman at her home during a burglary in Thiviers in July 2021, according to France Bleu Périgord. This sentence is heavier than the requisitions, the attorney general had requested 25 years in prison.
A psychopathic personality
The facts occurred on the night of July 20 to 21, 2021, in Thiviers. The man, then aged 23, broke into the home of an 88-year-old woman, to rob her, before raping her.
During the trial, psychiatric experts mentioned a psychopathic personality and a very high risk of recidivism, according to France Bleu Périgord. The man was already known to the courts.
