Nearly four decades after Coluche’s historic appeal which led to the creation of Restos du coeur, Romain Colucci announces this Tuesday, September 26, 2023, through messages broadcast on the radio, the launch of the fourth edition of Radio Restos, an initiative aimed at raising funds. For the occasion, Coluche’s son granted an exclusive interview to our colleagues at Parisian Start of the week. An opportunity for the young man to look back on the creation of the association. At the time, he was only 13 years old.
“I heard about it in the playground in the week that followed. What I knew about was my father’s fake marriage to Thierry Le Luron (which had taken place the day before, on the 25 September 1985) because there had been lots of costume fittings at home with Carlos, Eddie Barclay… But the Restos du coeur, Michel (Coluche’s first name) had not spoken to anyone about it. had also not warned Europe 1 that it was going to make this appeal on the air by promising “a little publicity” to the brands which would make donations… At the station, they must have had hair that grew out inside the head! No presenter could do that today without risking his position. My father used the surprise effect. I remember, however, that afterward the atmosphere changed at home: there were serious people passing by, CSP +, retirees from the agri-food industry, large companies…”,he revealed before addressing his own commitment.

Romain Colucci ready to do anything for the association
Romain Colucci has been officially an active member of Restos du coeur for 5 years. “I saw the energy and time that my father and then my mother devoted to the Restaurants, there was no question of practicing the empty chair policy. When I speak with volunteers, many cite, as motivation first, the desire to take up the action of Coluche, of Jean-Jacques Goldman or of my mother”,he said. Faced with the growing numbers of people below the poverty line in France, Coluche’s son is now asking for more aid from the State and is of course counting on the association’s new action to raise funds!
