La Flèche rouge, opposite our French TGV. Trenitalia comes to compete with SNCF on the Paris-Lyon line, for the first time. Journalists from France Télévisions tested and compared. 7 am in Paris on Saturday December 18, the photographers are there, the train fans too. As far as fares are concerned, Trenitalia advantage, with very attractive first prices, from 23 euros per ticket. Opposite, the TGV is three times more expensive by booking at the last minute. But thanks to reduction cards, some manage to lower the bill.

Italian trains are cheaper, but are they more comfortable? At Trenitalia, there is a standard class, a business class, but also a very high-end executive class. There are also silent areas throughout the train where it is forbidden to speak. The two companies also promise a good WiFi connection. On the catering side, Trenitalia is banking on Italy.
