A musical break with a snack

Usually, we end our day with a concert. But that day, it was the opposite. At 8:15 a.m., the public arrives in front of the doors of the Philharmonic Orchestra, very motivated. “Yes, I find it more practical than after work because I am often tired. In the morning, I have more energy” explains a spectator. “It’s a wonderful way to start the day. It’s a very original format and it’s true that the fact that breakfast comes with it can only add a bonus” added a young woman. Because, indeed, the particularity of these concerts is to offer a pastry and a coffee in the morning, a sandwich and a bottle of water at lunchtime, a pretzel and a drink at the end of the afternoon. A musical break with a snack. “Music evolves. Our idea is to take into account everyone’s lifestyles” explains Marie Linden, general director of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Serenity for the day

Comfortably installed in deckchairs, the public was entitled to this first Day like no other to a surprising interpretation of the Goldberg Variations, by Johann Sebastian Bach. A work written for harpsichord, the musicians have innovated by offering a version with viola, cello and double bass. In the room, the captivated spectators listen with delight. “It really brings serenity for the day” enthuses a spectator. Next concerts: November 30, 2023 at 6:15 p.m. with the Quartet No. 14 in D minor by Franz Schubert, as well as March 8, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. with works by Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel and Amy Beach.
