Saturday September 23 was a demonstration against police violence in Paris. Around 4:30 p.m., a police car was targeted on the Place de Clichy, in the 9th arrondissement. Several hooded men attacked a law enforcement vehicle, forcing one of them to draw his weapon. “If he hadn’t pulled out his gun, would he be among us?“, asks Reda Belhaj, spokesperson for IDF SGP Police Unit.
An open investigation
Rallies were held all over France, sometimes with signs with flowery slogans. “It is unacceptable that a police officer could be the subject of this type of attack.“, says Sonia Fibleuil, National Police spokesperson at BFMTV. The four Parisian police officers were slightly injured. Three people were arrested, while a judicial investigation was opened.
