After his poor performance last weekend in Singapore, the Dutch driver dominated the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka on Sunday, ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri (McLaren). The Red Bull team is already crowned constructors’ world champion.

Max Verstappen claimed victory on the legendary Suzuka circuit, at the Japanese Grand Prix, Sunday September 24, signing his 13th victory of the season in 16 races. After seeing his streak of ten victories come to an end last weekend in Singapore with the great performance of Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), the Red Bull driver, who started in pole position, took off from the start of the race, leaving his opponents to fight among themselves for the rest of the podium. Thanks to this new title, Max Verstappen, author of his 48th career victory, has a sufficient lead to be crowned in two weeks in Qatar (October 6-8).
In the fight behind the double world champion, the two McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were not unworthy, and thus completed the podium. This is also the first Grand Prix for the young Australian in his career, in his first season. The other Red Bull of Sergio Perez retired.

Red Bull had a double ambition in Japan: to resume its march forward and win the constructors’ title, six Grand Prix before the end of the season. Objective achieved for the Austrian team crowned constructors’ world champion for the sixth time, after 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2022. “We are having an incredible year, and I am very proud of each member of the team,” reacted Max Verstappen a few minutes after crossing the line.
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) finished fourth and fifth respectively. The Alpine of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly took ninth and tenth places.
