Two workers were rescued by the Montreal Fire Department (SIM) after the floor of the apartment building in which they were located partially collapsed late Saturday afternoon.
It all happened shortly before 4 p.m., when emergency services were contacted to intervene at the scene of the collapse, namely a building located at the corner of Boulevard Rolland and Rue Pascal, in the Montréal- borough. North.
Two people were trapped under the rubble. They were extricated from the building early in the evening, confirmed the head of the SIM division, Martin Guilbault.

It was not possible to know their condition or the severity of their injuries.
After removing the two victims from the building, the SIM technical rescue group worked to secure the scene and ensured that no one else was inside, Mr. Guilbault said.
The collapse is not visible from the outside, emphasizes the chef. “It’s a slab that collapsed, but it’s still too early to know the exact reason. Our work will focus on securing the building, and ensuring that everything is stable,” indicated Mr. Guilbault.

Montreal police officers are on site to control automobile traffic and curious people between Maurice-Duplessis and Pascal streets. Access to the perimeter will be restricted during the intervention.
