The senatorial elections are scheduled for Sunday, September 24. 80,000 voters are called to the polls in around forty departments. What are the issues ?
In the Senate, the government does not have a majority. He is forced to make compromises. The debates are subdued but no less fierce. To be elected, you must be at least 24 years old. The contract is for six years and half of the senators are elected every three years. Sunday September 24, we will therefore vote in half of the French departments, from Indre-et-Loire to the Pyrénées-Orientales via the Paris region and part of the overseas territories.
The Senate should remain in opposition to the government
To vote, you have to be a great voter. These are the deputies, the mayors and the various councilors. For everyone, voting is compulsory under penalty of a fine of 100 euros. There are 170 seats to be filled out of the 348 total. Today, the senatorial majority, LR and centrist union, East to the right. This should not change. The Senate should therefore remain in opposition to the government. Neither La France Insoumise nor the National Rally have senators for the moment. Sunday, they could win 3 or 4 to the maximum.
