What really happened at Dunkirk? The wife of a professor killed by several stab wounds was indicted at the end of her police custody. The public prosecutor spoke.

On the evening of Friday September 22, teacher and children’s book author Justine Jotham will spend her first night in prison. She is accused of having murdered her husband Patrice Charlemagne, also a university professor. The characterization of assassination is retained by the prosecution, that is to say a murder with premeditation. She explained herself and admitted having stabbed her husbandexplains Charlotte Huet, public prosecutor of Dunkirk (North).

Tensions within the couple

Why did she attack her husband so violently? On the night of Sunday September 18 to Monday September 19, Justine Jotham called the police. She claims burglars broke into her house and she fled with her baby. The police discovered her husband’s body and various scattered objects. But material elements and inconsistencies in his statements will rule out the burglary trail. For investigators, it is a set-up. Among the hypotheses: tensions within the couple, and the prospect of a separation which could have distanced the young mother from her only 20-month-old daughter, her main concern, according to her lawyer. New hearings are planned in the couple’s entourage.
