“softscars”, new album by yeule

Originally from Singapore, yeule (real name Nat Ćmiel) took root in London, a crossroads of current music nourishing his musical imagination, avant-garde pop (hyperpop), electronic music (his previous album was entitled Glitch Princess) and video game soundtracks — his stage name refers to the series Final Fantasy. She is, above all, an artist gifted in sound design: this third album will make audiophiles salivate as each sonic ingredient of her songs, here dependent on the alterno of the 1990s (think Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.), springs forth headphones with such vivacity! Everything here is invigorating, his crisp voice, his guitars crafted in the studio by Butch Vig (cyber meat), its elaborate melodies, its dancing impulses (software update) or orchestral (hell), his love for power ballad pop (ghosts, aphex twin flame). The artist urgently and brilliantly revives the sounds of his childhood to make them relevant again. At the Fairmount Theater on October 13.
