Woman accuses British actor Russell Brand of exhibitionism

(London) A woman has accused Russell Brand of exposing himself to her in 2008, the latest in a series of accusations against the British actor and comedian.

The woman told the BBC she was working in the same building as the BBC in Los Angeles when the incident happened, and Brand laughed about it moments later on his radio show.

She did not make a complaint, but BBC management was informed of the incident in 2019, although no formal action was taken.

“I’m ashamed, but more than that, I wonder if something had been done, maybe there would have been fewer women to whom he would have done horrible things, like we are reading in the papers now,” she told the television station.

A joint investigation by Timesof Sunday Times and Channel 4 television on Saturday published allegations by four women of rape, sexual assault and psychological abuse against Brand.

Brand, 48, denies the allegations which allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013, saying his relationships were always “consensual”.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesperson Rishi Sunak called the allegations “very serious and concerning”, adding that the leader “has made clear that there should never be room for harassment, anywhere where it occurs.

The brand’s publisher, Bluebird, announced that “all future publications” with the comedian had been suspended while video-sharing platform YouTube also demonetized his content.
