A body was recovered from the St. Lawrence River near the port of Montreal on Sunday afternoon.
Investigators and forensic identification technicians went to the scene around 3:30 p.m., after the discovery.
The identity of the body could not be determined at this time and the investigation has been transferred to the Coroner’s Office which will take charge of this first step.
For the moment, no theory has been ruled out as to the causes of death, indicated the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).
