Two men were arrested on Saturday September 16 for kidnapping, aggravated violence, threats and theft, franceinfo learned on Sunday September 17 from sources close to the case. The suspects, aged 43 and 51, are accused of having kidnapped a lawyer in his office located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The two men wanted to recover 700 euros in fees paid to this lawyer by their friend, unhappy at having lost his trial, these sources tell franceinfo.

Punches to the face and abdomen

The victim, aged 51, was assaulted and threatened. The lawyer was beaten in the face and abdomen. Although sequestered, he managed to quickly alert a friend. The latter called the police. But in the meantime, the suspects took the lawyer outside to withdraw the demanded money. Thanks to a second alert from the victim, the police managed to locate them near Parc Monceau in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

The two suspects were arrested and taken into custody. One of them had the lawyer’s bank card in his possession. Contacted by franceinfo, the Paris prosecutor’s office remains cautious at this stage of the investigation because the three individuals were alcoholic.
