Be extremely vigilant if you find yourself in these departments. Météo-France placed Hérault on red alert for rain-flooding for a few hours on Saturday September 16. This red vigilance was finally lifted after 5 p.m. The department is nevertheless kept on orange alert for rain-flooding and high water. Gard also remains on orange alert. Vigilance is completely lifted for Lozère.
“On Saturday, stormy rain affected Hérault, Gard and the south-east of Lozère. These rains and thunderstorms give up to 80-100 mm in a short time. Cumulative amounts over 24 hours can reach 300 to 400 mm, very occasionally 600 mm in the upper cantons of Hérault where more than 450 mm has already fallen.“, specified Météo-France on Saturday morning. A significant calm will occur in the evening, the forecaster also specified.
