Searches resumed on the evening of Monday, September 11, in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), where little Emile, two and a half years old, disappeared on July 8, France Télévisions learned from the police station. However, this research is not linked to new information, this source specifies to franceinfo. The excavations, which are taking place at a slab located at the top of the hamlet, began in mid-August before being put on hold. They should continue until Wednesday.

LThe gendarmes had destroyed part of this concrete slab in August, which will be completely destroyed during this new excavation session in order to leave no doubt, reports France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côtes d’Azur. A “anomaly” had in fact been spotted at this level thanks to a sonar, a few days after Émile’s disappearance, again according to France 3.

Little Emile disappeared more than two months ago in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet, while he was on vacation with his grandparents. Following his disappearance, searches brought together hundreds of anonymous people who came to help, without succeeding in finding the child. The thirty houses in the hamlet attached to the commune of Vernet were also searched, the residents questioned and their vehicles visited, without success.
