(Kansas City) Tight end Travis Kelce has made progress in his rehabilitation after suffering a knee injury last week in practice.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid announced this Monday with a Kansas City-Jacksonville game on the horizon on Sunday.
Kelce wanted to face the Detroit Lions on Thursday. In light of a practice earlier that day, however, the organization preferred to leave it aside.
Deprived of a star target, Patrick Mahomes had to settle for 226 air yards and the Chiefs were defeated, 21-20.
Mahomes threw two touchdown passes, but he also threw an interception. It deflected from the hands of Kadarius Toney, who escaped some of the eight balls not controlled by the Chiefs receivers.
Brian Branch, a rookie, grabbed the interception and returned the ball 50 yards to the end zone.
