(Montreal) CF Montreal announced the dates for their round of 16 clash against Santos Laguna on Friday in the Concacaf Champions League.
CF Montreal will play their first leg against the Mexican club on February 15 in Torreón, and the decisive match in the round-trip total-goals series will be held at the Olympic Stadium on February 22.
The two teams are crossing swords in the Champions League for the second time in history. The first occurred in 2009, during the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The Montreal club had a 2-0 victory over Santos Laguna at Olympic Stadium on February 25, but lost 5-2 in Mexico on March 5.
The winner of this most recent duel will advance to the Champions League quarter-finals, which will take place from March 8-10 and March 15-17. The semi-finals will be played April 5-7 and April 12-14, while the final matches will be held April 26-28 and May 3-5.
The team that wins the tournament will advance to the FIFA Club World Cup in 2022 as Concacaf representative.
