Granby girl: at least 15 to 18 years in prison demanded for the mother-in-law

The Crown is demanding that the Granby girl’s stepmother serve a minimum of 15 to 18 years in prison before being eligible for parole.

Representations on the 38-year-old woman’s sentence began at the Trois-Rivières courthouse, a week after the accused was found guilty of premeditated murder and forcible confinement.

In doing so, she was automatically sentenced to life imprisonment.

However, the judge must decide on the period of time she must spend behind bars before she can apply for parole.
