The father of the child who became infamous and known as the “Granby Girl” pleaded guilty to a charge of forcible confinement and a stay of proceedings was ordered on the count of criminal negligence.
The man will therefore not have a trial.
This result follows an agreement between the Crown and the defense.
The man will have to appear again before Judge François Huot of the Superior Court on January 7. The lawyers will then make their representations on the sentence that will be imposed.
