French sport is ready for battle for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At the CREPS in Châtenay-Malabry, the first meetings of the Regional House of Performance of Île-de-France took place on Wednesday, a few weeks after the event. ‘inauguration of the structure intended to better train some athletes for the Olympics.
Mathieu Thomas, para-badminton player is training this Wednesday. He missed one place near qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics this summer, so his goal is “_Paris 2024, thoroughly, and more than ever,” he smiles.

Helping athletes reach new heights
“Today, the performance house supports me on preparation with a coach, but also on mental preparation, so that, in my sports project, everything is aligned to seek performance“, he explains.
“There are always small details to correct“, explains the one who trains about 30 hours a week.”All this will help me in my structuring“, continues Mathieu Thomas.
“The National Sports Agency has identified the very high performance, namely all the players who won medals or who finished 4th at the Tokyo Olympics. And the performance house is there to help all these other athletes who are not in high performance, to accompany them and help them go for a medal. We widen this circle thanks to the house of performance“, he assures us.
