All that was needed was formalization. Four days after extinguishing all suspense, Jonas Vingegaard won the Tour de France for the second time in his career, on Sunday July 23. The 21st and last stage was only a formality for the Danish rider, who crossed the finish line in Paris quietly with his teammates.
Ahead of him, Jordi Meeus settled the competition in the sprint, picking up his first-ever Tour de France victory. The Belgian rider from the Bora-Hansgrohe team beat the ogre Jasper Philipsen at the photo-finish, throwing his bike in front of the one who had won four sprints in this edition.
